This has nothing to do with your characterization. I honestly think that is so spot on that I have to wonder if you're an annoyed Scottish demon behind the keyboard, and you're just doing this to mess with our minds, because I can see Crowley doing something like that. :) This is more about cast frustrations and you're not the only one about to get it, so please don't think I'm singling you out.
I'm getting very frustrated with playing Ellen. I have PMed, IMed, and emailed the entire cast. About the only thing I haven't done is give out my phone number (something I'm unwilling to do for obvious reasons). Now, I can understand an email/IM going astray. But all three?
You've said before that Crowley wouldn't have much to do with Ellen. That's fine. However, I cannot see him passing up the chance to at least talk to her if only to find out where she stands on the revitalization of Hell, or because she is the new bartender at Mugshots - and Crowley setting out bounties I can sorta see?
I'm honestly at the end of my rope. Plus, I found out about a "cast discussion" on plurk via acj. I know what it was about, but it's very disconcerting to not even be dropped a PM with "Hey, this was brought up. Do you have any thoughts?"
I've rambled enough and thank you for taking the time to read/consider this. Again, I do adore your Crowley.
Well, for starters, thank you for the compliments. I spend a lot of time and effort on Crowley's characterization and to hear that I am doing it right is comforting.
As for the cast discussion, it was basically a collective agreement that the cast is somewhat inclusive and ways to strive toward it. It wasn't a plotting plurk, it was more a case of someone plurked something and I brought up some concerns. I am sorry that you were not notified about it, but it wasn't a planned discussion, and you were not left out of it on purpose. It certainly wasn't my intention to make you feel that way and I apologize. Sometimes PMs do get lost for me, though, so if I do not respond to them within two or three days, I probably did not get the notification.
On Crowley, he doesn't particularly care what Ellen has to say on what he's done with Hell or anything else she has to do. As of his canon point, he has washed his hands clean of the hunting community, and within game, he's done the same thing. He's not really going to go out of his way to speak to someone he doesn't really care about. Should Ellen approach him, he wouldn't ignore her, but he also wouldn't discuss anything of real value with her. She's not one of his trusted associates and honestly, the only thing he knows about her is that she died in Carthage, and he doesn't particularly care that she did. She's just another hunter to him -- no one particularly special. I am sorry if this puts a dent in your CR plans with him, but I can't really force him to go out of what he would do in order to maintain CR. He barely talks to the Winchesters and he has an actual canon relationship with them past a knowledge of their name.
I hope this is helpful and explains some of his in-game actions. If not, I can always explain more.
